LifeQuest opened its Thornhill site to extend its state-of-the-art infertility treatment to patients who live north of Toronto and want the option to receive treatment closer to home. “This will be of great benefit to people who might not otherwise seek treatment because, until now, there have been no clinics in this area to offer this kind of comprehensive infertility treatment,” said Dr. Carl Laskin.

Day-to-day patient care -- blood tests, ultrasounds, cycle monitoring, and keeping each patient up-to-date about the details of her cycle -- will take place at the Thornhill clinic.

If In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is required for her treatment program, much of her treatment will take place in Thornhill. There are up-to four days in the monthly cycle when the patient will travel to LifeQuest’s central Bay Street location for procedures including the egg retrieval and the embryo transfer, which must take place in LifeQuest’s procedure room and Embryology Lab.

Patients of LifeQuest Thornhill will have the convenience of receiving their infertility treatment close to home, combined with the benefits of access to LifeQuest’s entire team of caring physicians, trained nurses, skilled embryologists, and a compassionate infertility counselling team, all of whom have specialized training in the treatment and support of patients facing infertility issues.

Patients of LifeQuest Thornhill will also have access to the latest Assisted Reproductive Technologies available, including: In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Assisted Hatching, Blastocyst Transfer, Cryopreservation, Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), ovulation induction and cycle monitoring, sperm donation, sperm washing and intrauterine insemination (IUI), and management of recurrent pregnancy loss (miscarriage). In addition, LifeQuest Thornhill will have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment including 3-D ultrasound and other advanced imaging technologies.
